Source changes need an update map

Find the articles, translations, decks and posts that need a correction—and the people who own them.

Linked claims reveal affected assets

Record claim IDs and source revisions so a changed source points to the assets that need review.

Conceptual illustration connecting a source document to a claim and three content formats. Not a product screen or a customer result.
  1. Source → claim Passage, check date and conditions
  2. Claim → asset Article, translation and deck revision
  3. Asset → destination Published URL, owner and verification

A&AClaim types / A&A proposal, not an industry standard

Claim labels keep proposals explicit

A statement found in a source is different from a measured result. Unverified claims stay on hold.

LabelWhat the record meansEditorial treatment
F: observedA passage was checkedAttribute vendor statements; do not imply testing
O: opinionAn author's view or adviceKeep the author and applicability limits
H: proposalA&A's design or fictional exampleLabel it as a proposal or an illustration
U: unverifiedOriginal passage not checkedHold it and assign a verifier

A&AWorked example / Relay, its plans and every record are fictional

Each claim needs a source passage

A team describes syncing in the fictional product Relay. C-A identifies the claim; S-A identifies its source.

Derived assets need source revisions

Attach the claim ID and exact input revision to every derived asset. Here, r1 names a fixed revision.

Fictional source-to-asset dependency map Source S-A r1 supports claim C-A r1. English article EN-A r1 feeds a localized article L-A r1 and deck D-A r1. Post P-A r1 derives from the deck. SourceClaimArticleTranslationDeckPost S-A@r1C-A@r1EN-A@r1L-A@r1D-A@r1P-A@r1Arrows: source → derived asset

  2. Deck D-A Uses EN-A@r1 / deck owner
  3. Post P-A Uses D-A@r1 / distribution owner

Keep each public URL with its text, image and PDF revision. Never reuse a revision ID for changed content.

A&ALocalization review / A&A proposal and fictional example

Translations must retain every condition

Source meaning: “Relay sync is available on business plans; personal plans are excluded.” Compare each translation against that scope.

The condition was dropped

“Relay supports syncing.”

This could include personal plans. Reject the translation: it broadens C-A@r1.

The condition was retained

“Relay supports syncing on business plans; personal plans are excluded.”

Keep C-A@r1 and EN-A@r1 in the translation record.

Source: A&A fictional comparison, 2026-11-01. English back-translations make the scope difference visible. An unchecked source claim cannot pass through translation review.

A&AChange propagation / A&A proposal and fictional example

Source changes travel through references

S-A@r2 limits syncing to premium business plans. List the affected assets before editing them.

Update the claim

Compare S-A r1 → r2. Narrow C-A r1 → r2 to the new plan condition. The editor checks the wording.

Notify each owner

Flag EN-A → L-A and D-A → P-A for review. Give each owner the changed passage and affected revision.

Exclude unrelated claims

C-B uses only source S-B. Record why it is outside this change, so it is not rewritten without a reason.

Source: A&A fictional example, 2026-11-01. Missing dependency records can still leave affected assets undiscovered.

A&AVerification after an update / A&A proposal

Published copies decide update status

A corrected draft does not prove that every distributed copy changed. Record verified, unverified or cannot edit for each destination.

  • Article and translation — Open each actual URL. Check plan conditions, source links and language.
  • PDF and images — Retrieve the distributed files again. Inspect old direct links and attachments too.
  • Destinations you cannot edit — Assign an owner to choose a correction, replacement or removal where supported.
  • Uncertain outcomes — Keep the update open. Check the destination before deciding whether to retry.

A&ABlank working register / A&A proposal

A register makes update ownership clear

Start with a published claim. Add a row for each claim × destination URL; recover missing links from search and production history.
