Keep the original evidence
- Fictional customer quote: “Every time the rep changes, I have to explain it all again.”
- Record the context: Date, workflow, source location and reviewer.
- Ask next: What was lost in the handoff, and who experienced it?
Close the evidence gaps before expanding AI's role.
Review customer evidence, data, human ownership, and testing and recovery for one workflow.

Choose a workflow and a purpose first. Example: reduce missed handoffs from an inbound inquiry to a sales owner.
These four areas assess operational readiness for delivery and retention within the flagship article’s five hypotheses.
Trace an AI summary back to the customer's own words. Record evidence of a problem separately from willingness to buy.
A system of record is where you resolve conflicting values. Do not treat a field as confirmed until access, freshness and correction rules are clear.
| Record | Source and identifier | Who updates it, and when | If missing or wrong |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inquiry | Intake log / inquiry ID | Intake owner / on receipt | Check the original |
| Contact | CRM / contact ID | Sales rep / after confirmation | Do not infer a value |
| Owner and status | Case log / inquiry ID | Recipient / on acceptance | Keep it unaccepted |

Count the handoff as complete only when a recipient records acceptance. Keep notified but unaccepted inquiries visible in the case log.
Summarize the inquiry, attach its source and flag unknowns. Suggest an owner; do not commit to prices or delivery dates.
The sales lead names a recipient and a backup. The recipient records acceptance and the next action in the case log.
Escalate absence or an overdue handoff to the lead. Pause AI replies during human handling; the lead decides when to resume.
In an isolated trial, compare expected behavior with actual records. Treat unknown outcomes as unresolved and reconcile them before restarting.
Select a state for each of the 4 areas. “Trial-verified” applies only to the tested workflow, version and conditions. Reassess when a change or failure invalidates the evidence.
| Area | Unverified | Defined | Trial-verified |
|---|---|---|---|
| Customer evidence | Problem is assumed | Interviewee and questions set | Interpretation checked against source |
| Data | Source or access unclear | Owner and correction path set | Correction reaches the workflow |
| Human ownership | No clear recipient | Recipient and backup named | Backup acceptance demonstrated |
| Testing and recovery | Failure behavior unknown | Test and stop procedures set | Stop-to-recovery trial completed |

Workflow: inbound inquiry → sales acceptance. Purpose: reduce missed handoffs. Recovery comes first here because restarting could leave unresolved cases behind.

Use this deck to discuss gaps in one go-to-market (GTM) workflow: the work of reaching and serving a chosen customer.
Sources & editorial note: AI researched and drafted this deck; a separate AI reviewer and machine checks reviewed it. No human reviewed the content.
A&A's design basis: Internal GTM worksheets and inquiry-handoff design reviews informed the rubric. They do not validate this assessment or demonstrate a live deployment.
Customer evidence: A&A: What is AI-native GTM? separates customer responses from AI-produced material. This deck applies that distinction to workflow readiness.
Features versus readiness: Copy.ai / Fullcast: Platform Overview describes workflows that pass outputs between actions. Treating feature availability separately from operational readiness is A&A's judgment, not the vendor's assessment.
Enterprise comparison: Microsoft Learn: Agentic AI adoption maturity model covers enterprise adoption. There is no score conversion or certification relationship with this worksheet.
Record the next condition, its owner and a review date. Use the related articles if you need to clarify customer evidence or where human approval belongs.
